Because of the pervasive technology available at our fingertips, we are educating a generation of students called Generation iY.
They’ve grown up online and been impacted by the iWorld. They have been over-exposed to information far earlier than they are ready, yet have been under-exposed to real-life experience until it’s often too late. This over-exposure / under-exposure produces what we call “artificial maturity.”
Students find themselves stuck, not self-sufficient to move to the next stage of life. During this session, we will discuss how to best connect with students to get them moving again and turn artificial maturity into authentic maturity.
- Identify the problem of artificial maturity in Generation iY and the Homelander generation
- Reveal the most effective ways to balance autonomy, responsibility, and information
- Define a realistic model for coaching and guiding kids to true maturity
- Leave with turn key ideas you can practice in the classroom or at home with your children
